These baked dark chocolate chip doughnuts are the perfect little treat to enjoy at breakfast, as a snack, or with a good coffee. Wonderfully soft, delicately sweet, and generously studded with chocolate, they're made with quality organic ingredients that make all the difference.
For this recipe, I used organic unbleached all-purpose flour, organic golden sugar, and organic 55% cacao dark chocolate chips from @moulinabenakis. A simple, flavourful combination that yields tender doughnuts, rich in flavour and made from ingredients we love to keep in our kitchen.
🧾 Ingredients (12 doughnuts)
- 2 ½ cups (315 g) organic all-purpose flour @moulinabenakis
- ⅔ cup (135 g) golden sugar @moulinabenakis
- 2 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup (250 ml) milk
- ⅓ cup (80 ml) melted coconut oil
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup (170 g) dark chocolate chips @moulinabenakis
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, oil, and vanilla.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix just enough to moisten the flour.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Grease a 12-cavity doughnut pan with melted coconut oil.
- Divide the batter among the cavities of the pan.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the doughnuts are lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before unmolding.
Extra-indulgent option
Once the doughnuts have cooled, dip the tops in:
- 100 g melted dark chocolate
- 1 tsp coconut oil (optional)
Then sprinkle with a few chocolate chips or a little golden sugar.
